Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 4, 2026

Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need to run VeriQuery, and to process your data transparently.

1. Identity and Access

When you sign up for VeriQuery, we ask only for a username and an email address. We purposefully do not collect your real name to minimize the personal information we hold. This allows us to personalize your account, send essential product updates, and facilitate password resets.

2. Survey Data: Processor vs. Controller

As a survey platform, we store the questions you write and the responses you collect from your audience. We store survey responses strictly on behalf of our account holders. In privacy terms, we are a “Data Processor,” and you (the account holder) are the “Data Controller” for your respondents' data. We process this data entirely on your instructions.

We keep this content as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, your data is immediately and permanently deleted.

3. When We Access Your Information

We restrict access to your account data based on two distinct scenarios:

  • Normal Operations (Express Permission): No human looks at your survey content or responses. If you reach out for technical support regarding a specific survey, we will explicitly ask for your consent before accessing your account to help troubleshoot.
  • Security & Legal Safeguards: We reserve the right to access your account data without permission solely as a last resort to investigate severe violations of our Terms (such as using our platform for phishing or malicious activities), to safeguard our server infrastructure, or when legally compelled to do so by a valid subpoena or court order.

4. Subprocessors

To provide our service, we use a trusted list of third-party subprocessors to handle specific infrastructure needs:

  • MongoDB Atlas — Secure database hosting and data storage.
  • Stripe — Secure payment processing and subscription management.
  • Nodemailer — Transactional emails such as password resets and account notifications.

5. Website Analytics and Cookies

We collect basic information about browsing activity for analytics and statistical purposes to experiment with new product designs. We use persistent first-party cookies to store preferences (like keeping you logged in). You can adjust cookie retention in your browser, but VeriQuery will not function properly without them.

6. Your Rights and Data Portability

We apply the same data rights to all customers, regardless of location. You have the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request correction or erasure. You also have the right to data portability; VeriQuery allows you to easily export your survey data into a standard CSV format at any time before cancellation.
